That quote from The Times jumped out at me - the idea that anyone would consider Rejoin a left-wing preoccupation seemed bizarre until I read more about McSweeney and thought more about that old Labour right euroscepticism represented these days by the likes of Glasman, Stringer and even Kate Hoey. What I couldn't understand was the long silence of the ardent Remainers as Starmer closed every door. I kept thinking they had reassurances about a second term but there isn't going to be one unless something really decisive and positive is done.
